Dear,Sweet Jim,
Don and I met you and Jean in 1997 when we bought our townhouse. You were instantly our dearest friends. We had so many good times in that 15 years - remember "swapping" the dreaded pink flamingo in each other's front door?!
You and Jean had such a beautiful love story. I can see and hear you now looking at Jean and saying, "I love you with all my heart." And you did - it showed in everything you did for her. You simply cherished your precious Jean.
You were truly such a wonderful man - a big, burly ex-military guy, but really just a big ole teddy bear!
Don and I will always cherish our friendship with you. Rest in peace, dear one.
We love you,
Don and meg

My grand father passed away when I was to young to comprehend his death. My mom told me of the first time I met Mr Jim I immediately called him papa and instead of correcting me he took over the role and immediately accepted me as his own. He has always been there for me and spoiled me rotten. He was the only grand father I had in my life and took the role proudly. My mom was a single parent and Mr Jim always made sure we would never wanted for anything. Whether he was helping out with my first car to helping me buy my first house, he always took care of me. He taught me how to take care of myself and to push myself into being the person I'am today. His love for his family and the compassion he had for his fellow person always made me proud to be his grand daughter. I love him with all my heart and know he will watch over us from above.

Like my father, Jim belonged to that generation of great Americans who we are eternally grateful to. He did what had to be done and remained stoic throughout. Thank you for sharing your love with my mother and living your life as an example for all of us. We will always remember you. May Peace be with you.

A final salute to my 2nd dad. My proud life long veteran and friend. You lived your life as you wanted, in full control and ended it exactly as you wanted. Everything was planned and executed in writing as in motion. Thanks for all the loving memories. Now it is time to rest in peace. Daughter #1. Sue
