James “Jim” H. Dailey, 91, of Port Orange, FL, passed away at home early the morning of September 11, 2023. Born in Somers Point, NJ, he was the son of Harold and Mary (Downam) Dailey. An airplane mechanic and aerospace technician for many years, Jim also served his country during the 1950s as a member of the United States Army.
A motorcycle enthusiast, he retired in the early 1990s, moving to Florida so he could ride his motorcycle daily. Along with his wife Gloria, Jim became involved with and eventually director of the Daytona chapter of the RETREADS Motorcycle Club, whose members share two things: an age of 40+, and love of motorcycles. In addition to this, Jim was a social and artistic individual – enjoying woodcarving, painting, and time with the many friends he made along his journey.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 28 years, Gloria (Jensen) Dailey; two daughters, Merry May and Terry Dailey; stepson John; and two grandchildren with two great grandchildren, and his beloved dog, “Buddy”.
Jim will be laid to rest at a later date with military honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.
