Born and raised in Ashtabula Ohio, the daughter of Wallace and Beverly Woodburn. She graduated from Harbor High class of 1970 and went on to Columbus Business University from 1970-1972. At the age of twenty she married the love of her life Thomas Dinger on November 4th 1972; the two moved to Florida in 1979, built a home, and raised two children. Jan was always a people person, and enjoyed working with the public. While in Florida she worked at several banks including Barnett Bank and Winter Park Federal until 1985. From 1987 to 2015 she was Secretary and Treasurer of her husbands business Dinger Woodworking, and during this time she also owned a retail business from 1991 to 1995. However, Jan's greatest ambition was always to be a mother and she loved her husband and children relentlessly, family was always her top priority. She was loving, strong, protective, kind, and all of these qualities radiated through her personality. In fact, she was so amazing at being a mother that several of her children's friends referred to her as mom too. Jan was well known for her warm personality, big smile, and ability to make everyone around her feel welcomed and important. Jan was also a regular member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and actively involved with many organizations within the church and community. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends, vacationing with her husband, relaxing at the beach, and listening to her son play the guitar. She also had a love for tropical destinations and music, especially Jimmy Buffett and Key West. Those who knew Jan would agree that she was a light to us all and would have wanted that light to live on and shine through all of us.
Jan is survived by her parents; Wallace D. Woodburn and Beverly J. (Larson) Woodburn as well as her Mother-in-law Barbara L. Dinger and also by her brother; Mark D. Woodburn. She leaves behind her loving husband of 43 years, Thomas H. Dinger. Eric J. Dinger; her son. Kaley L. Dinger; her daughter. As well as her Grandchildren and several close friends.
