Javier was not just a childhood friend, but family. He was an another brother I was blessed to have in my life. I can’t imagine growing up without The Hernandez’s, all the fun memories of going to the beach, parks, springs, playing football against each other, boating trips, camping trips, making up our own games, the list can go on and on. I cherish each one of those memories to this day. Javier, I hope you are looking down on us and know how loved you were. You will be missed dearly but never really gone, we will have you in our hearts and memories for years to come and always with us when sharing those memories. Rest Easy Javier. ❤️❤️

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been introduced to your family and to have known Javier for several years. When I think about the memories we have shared, I am reminded of trips to the Springs, trips to St. Augustine, and of course all the wild karaoke nights. Javier was always kind and his warm smile will always be remembered.
I am so sorry for your loss. With deepest sympathy as you remember Javier.

Enrique, Colleen and Jessica,

At times like these words cannot do justice to the raw emotions, thoughts and memories which remain in our hearts.
A wise man once distraught beyond despair after the loss of a loved one was able to find happiness after a long trial of sadness. He told me: it is amazing what a little time can do to mend a broken heart.
Time never ending, the sun rises only to set and rise again. Winter turns into Spring. The heavens above may seem indifferent to our struggles as they may be to our joy. But the Great Spirit which gives us life, love, sadness and joy does these things to challenge us , to let us know there is heaven on Earth, within us and within each other. She left our world an imperfect place to challenge us in our weakness and our sorrow, in order that we may reach out to one another to find strength for the coming darkness and survive for another day, to find solace and one day peace in our hearts. To let us know that there is no such thing as life unloved or wasted. The Spirit loves us always, and all ways.
I bid you peace my friends, with love. May the memories of Javier be carried on forever.

From the moment I meet Javier he was the most adorable little boy with the softest skin. I would love to give him kisses on those adorable cheeks. I have so many wonderful memories of us together. From long summer days spent at the beach, going to the springs, the parks, even the kids driving "Granny Wrinkles" crazy swimming at the pool. I am so glad I got to get one final kiss in April when I was home. We will keep your memory alive as we try and move on to a new normal without you. Thanks for the wonderful memories. Colleen, Enrique, Jessica there is nothing I can say that I haven't said. Just know I love you all and will be here for you always. Love you!

My first meeting with Javier was at the Blahnik’s, 3 yrs ago. I had just met Billy, his family and the Hernandez family. What makes it special was that he came up to me and introduced himself with the biggest of smiles and he gave me a hug. So sweet! I was so happy to see that smile and get that hug on my wedding day! He even danced with us! Cherished moments I will hold dear. Many thoughts and prayers to Enrique, Colleen and Jessica. RIP Javier

Biography

When Javier Alberto Hernandez walked into the room, those in his company felt energy, an enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Javier was and how he impacted those around him. Javier was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Javier wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. Javier was tireless and had boundless enthusiasm that would serve him well throughout his life.

Javier was born on July 11, 1996 at Villarica Clinic in Tolima, Colombia. He was the son of Enrique and Colleen. Javier was raised in Port Orange, Fl. Always at the ready with a good joke, he grew up to be quite a humorous person. While some who knew Javier might describe him as an idealist, his friends and family understood well that Javier was always in pursuit of life’s endless possibilities and opportunities available to him.

Javier had one sister Jessica. Javier was very accepting and supportive of his family. He loved life and lived life on the edge. He loved taking risks and had a brilliant mind.

As a young boy, Javier was a sweet sensitive boy that had a large group of friends. Javier was intelligent and had little trouble getting along with his peers. He was almost always the first to jump in when it came to playing games or participating in other childhood activities. Javier took part in soccer, swimming and computer games. In his spare time he liked to play cards, monopoly, video games and domino's. Javier had the ability to find amusement with almost any activity he and was a great prankster.

During his high school years, Javier was always selling something at the school and this is when he began his career in Social Media. He graduated from Spruce Creek High School in 2014. Javier enjoyed going to school for the social but did love his classes with Mr. Tremont. For Javier, school often became just an extension of playtime, thanks to his ability to turn just about anything into a game. Classmates considered Javier a good listener, knowing that when necessary, they could go to him to discuss just about anything. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was Mrs. Burns in elemnetary school and Mr. Tremont in High School.

With a talent for making acquaintances easily which in turn brought him an endless stream of friends, Javier was very sociable and could blend without effort into any social group. Assertive and outgoing, Javier was easy to know and demonstrated a deep concern for others. He always seemed aware of what was going on with people around him and throughout his life he made many, many friends. While growing up, some of his best friends were Hunter, Mark, Brett and Chris. Later in life, he became friends with Chris, Zach and Dwight along with many others.

Javier was uplifted by new ideas and was excited by life’s possibilities, traits that made him an exceptional worker. His primary occupation was Social Media Marketing. He was self employed by Super Social Influence LLC. Javier was enterprising, inventive and working against deadlines seemed to energize him. Javier had the uncanny ability to identify a win/win solution to just about any problem, possibly because of his gift for insight. Javier's fellow workers saw him as a supporter and a mentor.

Because Javier loved to have a broad variety of activities in his life, he took advantage of the opportunity to pursue numerous hobbies. His favorite pursuits were video games. Javier had a knack for being able to multi-task in order to create time for all of his favorite pastimes. However, Javier's ever-present drive to become a successful entrepreneur drove him forward.

Javier's love of improvising in his daily life was a perfect fit for his enjoyment of traveling. His favorite vacations were ones that were not planned. Traveling in a casual manor fit his personality well. Excited about seeing changing scenery and constantly looking for the enjoyment life could offer, Javier took his vacations seriously, well, as seriously as he possibly could. Favorite vacations included Colombia, Miami, Chicago and New York.

Javier was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. Lucho a cat, was a best friend for 12 years. His family was rounded out by his Lola and Lucy.

Javier Hernandez passed away on May 31, 2019 at Halifax Hospital. He is survived by Enrique, Colleen and Jessica Hernandez. Services were held at Volusia Memorial. Javier was laid to rest in the ocean.

There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Javier. He was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. He had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While he was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to Javier Hernandez for inspiration, leadership, wisdom and even courage. Javier was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with his friends.
