

Jerry Siler Crawford, 75, of Port Orange, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 24, 2012. During his illness, Jerry lived as he always had with Dignity, Courage and Humor. He was born on February 5th 1937 in Halstead Hospital, Kansas. Jerry worked most of his life with Conoco as an electrical engineer and then as superintendent in the construction of off shore platforms which took him to Holland, England, Scotland and Russia. His integrity, commitment to brilliance and devotion to duty was legendary. He retired from Scotland to Florida in April 2000 to be near to his beloved daughter Dawn and his grandchildren. Jerry loved fishing, the outdoors and watching college football with his adored son Oron. He was an avid reader especially reading about history and also had a great love for Music. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother uncle and friend he is survived by his darling and devoted wife of 27 years Morag; daughter, Dawn Borden; Sons; Jerry, James and Oron La Rocke; sister, Betty and brother-in-law Bill Swendson; grandchildren, Chelsea, Christian and Demi Borden; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law in Scotland UK. Jerry is predeceased by his son, Christopher Crawford; parents, Oron La Rocke and Twila Marie Crawford and his brother Oron La Rocke a war causality April 1944. A memorial service will be held Saturday September 1st at 4pm at Cross Roads Baptist Church 1851 Clyde Morris Blvd, Daytona Beach. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
