Joseph Cocuzzo

Joseph Cocuzzo, 78, of Edgewater, passed away March 21, 2011 at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna. Joseph, a former resident of Bayside, NY moved to this area 25 years ago after retiring as a wireman for Western Electric. He honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was an active participant in the Voiture 713 40/8 and the American Legion Post 1860 where he was a past commander. He was a talented handyman who enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his children Charles Cocuzzo, Marie Rowan, Gail Brown and Eileen Ruskan; six grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Schubert and Barbara Maggiore; three brothers; Pat, David and Frank and his wife Joan of Port Orange and friend and caregiver Barbara Michaels of Edgewater. He is predeceased by his children; Christopher and Elizabeth; brother, Robert and sister Rosebud. Friends may call Thursday 4-7 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange. Funeral services and burial will be in NY.
