

Joseph Anthony Curatolo of Port Orange, Florida passed away March 19, 2014. He was born in Washington D.C. to Barbara Rose Haas and Anthony Curatolo. He was a police officer for 26 years beginning his career at the Daytona Beach Police Department. He was known as “Duck Pond Joe” and retired from the South Daytona Police Department in 2005 as Sgt. After retiring, he worked as a receptionist at Warner Christian Pre-school until 2010. He was a devoted member of church and served as a Deacon at South Daytona Christian Church. He was very active in life and enjoyed bowling, traveling, bad jokes, softball, but most of all spending time with his family. He was very motivational and was always someone that would be there to encourage others.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Terri Curatolo and his children Heather Whetstone (the late Mason), Kim C. Burgess (Greg), Somer Lustik (Lucas). He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Layne, Kalei, DJ, Emma, Zoe, Aubrey, Savannah and Lexie. He is also survived by his close friends Becky and Carl Schultz and Frank and Kathy Freeland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Terri Curatolo. Services will be held Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00am at Tomoka Christian Church in Ormond Beach. Friends and family are encouraged to come wearing all of their Duck Dynasty gear or casual clothing.
