With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Josephine Tumminia, who left us on February 2, 2025, at the age of 90. She was a remarkable woman whose love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was limitless, and her spirit will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Josephine was the epitome of generosity and kindness. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and the delightful aroma of bleach and cleanser. She approached life with a determined spirit, ensuring that her family felt loved and cared for every single day.
A true lover of entertainment, she found joy in watching mystery movies and classic shows like I Love Lucy. Her laughter was contagious, especially when she would mix up words in the most amusing ways like calling a “crepe” a “creep.” Her quirky sense of humor brought smiles to our faces and created countless treasured memories.
Music was another passion of hers, and she often filled our home with the soothing sounds of Perry Como and Jerry Vale. Whether she was singing along or simply enjoying the melodies, her love for music was evident and added a special touch to our family gatherings.
In addition to her love for film and music, Josephine was an avid fan of soap operas, eagerly following the lives of her favorite characters. Her enthusiasm for their dramatic storylines often resulted in lively discussions and playful debates with family members.
Josephine’s greatest joy was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Maria Picchiello (Anthony Picchiello) and Frank Tumminia (Lenie Tumminia). She was a devoted grandmother to Christopher Cutrano (Elizabeth Cutrano), Juliet Cutrano, Blaise Picchiello (Kylie Picchiello), Ariana Picchiello, Dante Picchiello, and Nico Tumminia. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren: Isla, Vincent, and Ellie Cutrano, as well as Karissa Godard. Her love and devotion to her family will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
Though she has departed from this world, the love and joy she brought into our lives will never fade. We are grateful for the time we shared with her and the lessons she imparted about love, laughter, and the importance of family.
