Karen Ann Dan

A Celebration of Life mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church (Port Orange, Florida) on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Karen was born July 12, 1965, in Rockville Center, New York to Martin and Carol Ann Doughney. Karen grew up in Levittown, New York and she graduated High School from Levittown Memorial High School. In school Karen was a cheerleader, a dancer and she was a friend to many; a theme that was prominent in her life. Karen went to College at Nassau Community College in New York and she graduated from Daytona Beach Community College with a degree in Legal Studies. Over the past thirty (30) years Karen worked with some of Volusia County's most distinguished Attorney's. Karen was proud of the work that she did, but she enjoyed the people she worked with more. Karen has many interests and passions. She loved the beach, the New York Yankee's, the Jacksonville Jaguars, NASCAR, Jeff Gordon, a good burger and Florida Gator Football games in the fall. Karen was the hostess for every holiday, birthday or any major sporting event and she welcomed all into her home as part of the celebration (even New England Patriot fans). Karen enjoyed traveling and in 2016 she visited Hawaii in July and Italy in October. Most of all Karen loved to be with her family! She loved to share the simple things in life with those that loved her. She loved a new Christmas ornament for the tree, a phone call just to cheer you up, a funny movie, a joke, a tennis match on vacation, watching a sunset or sitting down watching a good ball game with chips and queso dip. Karen's laugh and smile filled any room she was in and she truly lived each day to its fullest.

Karen is survived by her loving Husband, Wayne Dan, her beloved Son's Shayne Joseph Reese and Corey Lee Dan, her Daughter in Law Ellyn Reese, her Parents Martin and Carol Doughney and her Brother Matthew Doughney. Karen's joy of life, love and family will live on in the hearts of all that knew, loved and cherished her. In lieu of flowers Wayne has established the Karen Dan Memorial Fund and donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank..
