I first met Maggie in 1986 when I was an exchange student from Germany attending Perry High School. I became friends with her son Ed and spent a lot of time at the Lemay home. Maggie was very welcoming and made me feel at home right away. She was very interested to hear about life in Germany and Europe and asked me a lot of questions.I’ll never forget how she played Für Elise on the piano for me when I first visited. She was a very kind and special person. Rest in Peace, Maggie!

Growing up, Maggie was like a second Mother to me, to all of us in Forest Green.  Thank you for making me always feel welcome and loved at your home.  Maggie touched my life in ways I can never repay.   

Remembering all the good times we had together so much fun and laughter .We will never forget you MAGGIE .. REST IN PEACE   LOVE JOAN RALPH .

All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have such wonderful memories of all our times together and I can’t help but smile. God in his infinite mercy has taken Maggie home to him. God bless her and may she Rest In Peace


Oh, Maggie. I love this woman.

From the moment I moved to Spruce Lane in Forest Green, I had a second family in the LeMays. Maggie was my second mom. I likey spent more time in their half of the duplex than my own. And Maggie was such a good friend and support to my own Mom. Something she very much needed. 

Much like with my own Mom,  it's hard to recall any specific moment or memory.  Maggie was just always there. A constant presence of love and support.

I do recall one time, it was my Prom night and our one "automatic" car was broken down. My Dad tried to give me a crash course in driving his "stick shift" but that didn't go well.  Maggie stepped in to save the night and let me drive her groovy station wagon.

The world was a better,  brighter place with Maggie in it and I am honored to have had her play such a big part in the best days of my life. 

As a child, I remember Mom making me lay down with her to take a nap. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep. I remember the warm sun coming through the windows and the robins chirping outside. If I tried to sneak out of bed too early, she'd wake and pull me close. Her breathing slowed as she fell asleep. Slowly inching out of bed I didn't look back and snuck away to play in the basement all by myself. I was a prince searching for a great adventure. As a young boy you feel your parents will live forever. As a man, I nap not feel the sun on my face or hear the birds in the trees, but to remember my Mother pulling me close to once again feel loved.  Sleep well Mom, I will listen for your breath on the wind.

This is not the best picture, but it reminds me that my mother always was a good sport when it came to doing goofy things. We took them to Hakone in 2013 when my first son, Sean was still so little he could be carried on Eddie's shoulders. We walked up and down the hills and relaxed in the hot springs. Despite already being 70, mom always was so active eager to explore. 

She was learning Japanese at the time as well and decided to test her new knowledge as we entered a cafe'. 

Mom: Ko-hi- wa ikura desu ka (how much is the coffee?)
Store owner: 6$
Mom: Takasugimasu (That's too expensive!) 

She said this straight to the owner's face while standing next to me. I could feel my face turn red as I grabbed her hand and ran from the restaurant. If she was staightforward in English, this was no different in Japanese, a language that prides itself on high-context speech and avoiding such direct confrontation. 

This is from our trip to Quebec city in 2018, I believe. This church my father (edouard LeMay) visited with his mother when he was a child. We stayed in an airbnb just outside the city and had delicious corn. I remember walking up and down the St. Lawrence river with my mother and my wife Miwa. After all these years my dad was able to return to a place he discovered as a child. Perhaps when my children get old they will want to return to some places they went to with their grandmother.

It was a wonderful visit by my parents while I was in Kyotango, Japan. They really loved my house.

Meet Princess Teddy. My Aunt Margaret gave her to my daughter Nora when she was about 5 years old. I always kept her because she represented everything that was true and beautiful about my aunt. She always had a magic wand in her hand and a crown on her head. She was fun and whimsical. She loved to entertain, cook, play cards and enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and proud of her Brethren heritage. I will miss her so much but I’m glad she’s no longer suffering. We love you, Vanessa & Nora

My Aunt Maggie..
She was my favorite Aunt (no offense to my other Aunts, I love you all) but she was the one that I spent the most time with, and learned the most from. The subjects ranged from all aspects of skin care lol, always reminding us to put on sunscreen and never wear too much makeup.  I remember on my wedding day when i was 20 years old coming back from getting my make up done,  she looked at me and said No, I am fixing your makeup, you have way too much on!  and she did. Another thing she contributed to in my life was how to have fun! My Aunt Maggie was always up for doing crazy, mischievous things that we all would come up with.  One of my favorite memories was while camping at Bear Cave, hopping the fence which led to the hot tub at night when it was closed and we were not supposed to be there.  We did this everytime we camped there, and had soo much fun doing it. Another favorite memory for me is i must have been 10 or 11ish and I was staying the summer with them.  My birthday fell during that time, and she planned a whole party just for me.  I remember she bought me a nail file set, and a Sean Cassidy T-shirt. What a great aunt! There are many more, but I end with this one that I learned from her,  How to be a strong person..  she was just that in so many ways to me, and I have always admired her for that. I love you and will miss you and your smile very much, and I am going to think that you and my mom are playing games up there together.  With so much love, your niece, Amy

Maggie was a loving person who loved riding her bike, taking walks and spending time with family and friends. She had a fun-loving personality with a how-do-you-do smile for every day.
She was a breath of fresh air, and a ray of sunshine every time you saw her.  I remember the time my parents went away for the weekend, and I stayed with the Lemay’s.  She let me practice ironing her towels so I could learn how to iron.  At the time, I thought it was amazing that she ironed, “towels!”  Or, the time that I wrote on her wall thinking she thought it would be, “ok.”  Of course, it wasn’t but she just, laughed and helped me clean it up.  
She was a caring and loving person – that was her true character – and she was also the perfect neighbor. Kids were always welcome and were running around like wild Indians growing up, but she had a way of always making you feel happy.  As a kid, it was the best place to be.  
I’m sure you all have your own wonderful memories about what a marvelous, and one of the most glorious and spirited persons I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  Thank you, Jesus for allowing our paths to cross and leave us with this treasure – the memory of our friend and neighbor, Maggie Lemay.


I'm so sorry to hear about Maggie's passing. She was such an incredibly kind person and a strong advocate for justice and fairness in her community. I am so grateful to have known her. Sending love and prayers of comfort to Ed and their family.

Maggie was a very special lady.  She was unique.  She was one of these people that if you met her once, you will always remember her. Above all, she really loved her family - specially her 3 boys.  She really lived life to its fullest in an adventurous way.  Rest in Peace Maggie.

We are so sorry to hear about Maggie's death. She was a very special lady, and we enjoyed knowing her. Her love of F.A.I.T.H. was unlimited, and she shared that love with those of us in her group.
