Marta Luise (Bickel) Carrel - Born on 3/24/1931, in Enzberg, Germany, to the late Euigen and Luise Bickel. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Predeceased by 2 brothers, Theodore and Bernhardt Bickel from Germany.

Before coming to the USA, Marta worked for a renowned, family owned jewelry business In her hometown in Germany.

She immigrated to the US in her early 20s, she lived in Belleville, NJ with her Aunt Mina (Huber) and her cousin John Walz until moving out into her own apartment in Irvington, NJ.

She continued in the jewelry business working for Metzler Jewelry in Newark, NJ.

She met her beloved husband Jack through her sister and brother-in-law who happened to be neighbors to her cousin John in Bloomfield, NJ.

They married in 1977 and built a life together for 35 years in Florida traveling extensively and enjoying their favorite pastime of golf together until his passing in 2012.

She then volunteered her time to the Florida Hospital Hospice Care where her beloved husband was treated and where her cheerful nature was appreciated by those visiting their loved ones.

Marta was active on the golf course having memberships at both Spruce Creek and Indigo golf courses and played well into her mid 80s. Marta was easy to adore and loved by all who had the pleasure to know her. She made many close friendships that she cherished while living in Florida.

She left behind so many loved ones including her niece Marion Bickel and Nephew Holger Bickel in Germany, her cousin John Walz and his wife Helen in Cape Cod, formerly of New Jersey as well as the Walz children, Lisa, Deanna, Sherry and Erik and their families.

Marta went quietly through life but left such a profound impact on those who loved her. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to all those loving and genuine friends and neighbors who looked out for our dear little Marta.

Reunited with her love, Jack, may she rest in eternal peace.

At the request of Marta, services will be private.
