Mary Suzanne Halcomb, 76, of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2019. She was born January 15, 1943, in Rochester, NY to her loving parents John and Mary Kester.

Mary’s life was dedicated to grandchildren and children, and she was kind to so many – always helping others. She worked hard and had great work ethic. Her many roles included a mail carrier, jewelry maker, café owner, crafter, song writer, painter, realtor, animal lover, worked at Kodak early in her career, played the piano, gave lessons and sold keyboards. She laughed at and with friends and family, and often at life in general. What Mary learned was that life is not always fair. She loved people that did not deserve her. She also loved and enjoyed music, crafts, and baking. She always knew that family is the most important thing. Mary would want to be remembered as someone who did anything she could for others, above herself. She loved and trusted the Lord. In addition, most importantly, she would want people to remember how much she loved them.

Mary is survived by her daughters Robin (Vaughn) Baxter and Krissy (John) Belden; her grandchildren Candiss Baxter, Carlee Baxter, Sarah Belden, Jacob Belden; sister Cherie (Ken) Keeler; niece Dawn Todd; nephew Dan Keeler; her dog Prancer.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Mary Suzanne Halcomb's name to your local Humane Socieity.

Dear Suzie,
I am going to miss you so very much. I always knew we would have good stories to tell and enjoy each others company.

Your beautiful daughter and my wonderful son gave us the opportunity to become family . I will miss these times.

You were always there for your family and anyone who needed you. Just the special kind person you were. I am so grateful I could say you were part of my family and friend.

Love you Suzie, You will always be with me in my heart.

I had the pleasure and honor of knowing Nana over the last 10 years. She was always able to bring any of us that were around her at tournaments or practices a smile or laugh! She had this energy about her that just always put you in a better mood. She had so much Love for her family and I know she is above keeping an eye on them now. I was truly Blessed to have gotten to know her. You are loved and missed Nana!

Nana, it’s been a while since I have been around, but my love for you and your family has never changed. Only special families can accept you as one of their own, especially during the rough times, but you (all) always accepted me no matter what. Nana I love you to the moon and back, and I’m sorry I wasn’t around more often. I was in shock to hear it, and immediately broke down. The memories throughout the years are countless, and I’ll never forget you or them. Love you nana, love, your third granddaughter Lindsey ❤️

Momma became “Momma” to me the first time i met her. She would welcome anyone in with open arms and was always there for me, even when I didn’t know i needed a hand. There is nothing she wouldn’t do and there was no distance she wouldn’t travel just to help even if it were for just a moment. I feel extremely blessed that she accepted me as part of her family and allowed me to grow close to her daughter who is my soul mate and now my wife! Suzzanne i have many fond memories of you and i am so glad that i had the opportunity to spend time with you one on one. Will laughed a lot and had many great conversations. You will always have a place in my heart and I promise i will take care of your little girl for the rest of my life! Love you Momma!
