Mary V. McGlone

She was born in Margaretville, NY, on December 9, 1948, to Milton Bellows and Lillian (nee Carey) Bellows. Because her mother died in childbirth, she was adopted by Harold Vermilyea and Margaret (nee Bellows) Vermilyea. She graduated from Fleischmanns High School and Mildred Elley Secretarial School. She was married to Robert J. McGlone on September 13th, 1969.

Mary had a long and satisfying career as a Technical & Specialized Secretary at North Carolina University, Stanford University, Bell Labs, Schlegel Builders, and various locations with General Electric. This was followed by an equally satisfying career as an ESE Teacher Aide in the Volusia County School System. She enjoyed reading mystery books, jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, traveling, and visiting with her grandsons.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Margaret Vermilyea, Milton and Lillian Bellows, siblings William Bellows, Robert Bellows, and Evelyn (nee Bellows) Stonemetz.

She is survived by her spouse Robert McGlone, son Scott McGlone, grandsons Connor McGlone and Parker McGlone, sisters Sandy (nee Vermilyea) Todd and Margaret (nee Vermilyea) Pine, and brother Joseph Bellows.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 2 pm, May 11, at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Port Orange, FL.

Mary was a loyal friend, much loved, and will be greatly missed.
