Peggy Ann Minton Wright

Born in the Bronx, New York City, she grew up in Croton Falls, New York and Fair Haven, New Jersey. She graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School and attended the Rutgers School of Nursing. She married Arthur John Wright in 1954 and daughter Judy was born in 1957.

She began her nursing career at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital and was Supervisor of Nurses for 20 years before being promoted to Program Coordinator in 1990. She retired in 1993 and she and Art moved to New Smyrna Beach.

Peg volunteered for many years at the New Smyrna Beach Area Visitor’s Bureau and also served as president of her homeowner’s association.

She loved travel cruises with Judy, reading, bird-watching and her beloved cat Abby.

She was predeceased by parents Mary Adelaide (nee McAuliffe) Minton and Harry Lynnwood Minton; husband; daughter Judith Ann Blake; brother Dale Peter Minton; five cousins and aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sister Karen Ellen Minton; brother Alan Lynnwood Minton; son-in-law Jay Blake; and six cousins.

At her request, there will no public viewing or service. Donations in her memory may be made to any animal humane organization.
