Reynerio Sanchez

Reynerio Sanchez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born in Puerto Padre, Cuba, on October 28, 1936, to Rosalba Jomarron and Reynerio Sanchez.

In 1956, Reynerio left Cuba and came to the United States, where he built a life defined by courage, hard work, faith, and perseverance. After settling in New York, he founded RS Industries Inc. in 1972, serving as president and building a successful career in millwork, vacuum forming, and manufacturing. He was an incredibly talented craftsman, especially in woodworking, and continued working and creating until the very end.

Having experienced life in Cuba firsthand, Reynerio spent his later years traveling throughout the United States with his wife, Frances, sharing his story and encouraging others to appreciate the freedoms and opportunities found in America. His mission was to educate others through his experiences and the lessons he carried from his homeland.

Reynerio had a heart for helping others. He and Frances dedicated their lives to serving those in need through food drives, assisting with housing for those experiencing homelessness, and helping communities in need both locally and in impoverished countries. He was always willing to help his family, friends, and even strangers, never hesitating to offer support when someone needed it.

Faith was a cornerstone of Reynerio’s life. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and shared a beautiful bond with his wife through prayer. Reynerio and Frances prayed the rosary together every night, and he expressed his devotion through his craftsmanship, including creating a wooden display featuring the Ten Commandments.

Reynerio will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and unforgettable personality. He loved sharing stories of his childhood in Cuba, making people laugh, and bringing joy wherever he went. His family will forever cherish his playful jokes, including calling his granddaughter Angelica his “ugliest granddaughter,” and the special bond he shared with his great-grandson John, whom he lovingly called “Juanito.”

Reynerio is survived by his loving wife, Frances Sanchez (Cervera); his sons, Reynerio Sanchez and George Sanchez; his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Sanchez; his grandchildren, Reynerio, Antonio, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Natalie, and Angelica; his great-grandchildren, John and Selah; his sister, Alba Rosa Alfonso; his nieces, Ivette Alfonso Morano and Josephine Alfonso Serrano; and his extended family, including Frank and Becky Bruno, Mike and Christa Bruno, and Jonathan Torvik.

Reynerio’s legacy is one of faith, perseverance, generosity, hard work, and love. He touched countless lives through his kindness, craftsmanship, and dedication to helping others.
