

Richard Winfield Hawley, 87, of Port Orange, FL, passed away August 25, 2016 at Halifax Health Hospital. Richard was born in Hamilton Square, NJ son of the late Thomas and Lottie (Chamberlin) Hawley. Raised in New Jersey, Richard was the Director of Maintenance at Princeton University until his retirement. In 2014 he moved to Port Orange from West Windsor, New Jersey where he had resided for 66 years. He was a woods craftsman and enjoyed making furniture and other artifact for his family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Carolyn M. Hawley and two sisters and a brother. Left to cherish his memory is her daughter Susan Froehlich and her husband Gary of Port Orange; granddaughter, Kristie Christ and her husband Tim of New Smyrna; Great grandchildren, Kyle and Jennifer Christ; sisters, Marion Pullen of Allentown, NJ and Maude Buckalew and her husband Hilt New Egypt, NJ; brother in-law, Bill Arendt and his wife Liz of Hamilton Sq., NJ and several nieces and nephews.. Funeral services will be held in New Jersey and will be announced at a later date Arrangements under the direction of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange, FL.
