Rick Angelo Bagnoli, Sr., age 55, of Daytona Beach, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his residence after battling cancer. He was born September 26, 1960 in Youngstown, OH to Alex Bagnoli and Teresa (Popio) Bagnoli DeCapua, whom both survive.
His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his 3 sons: Ricky (Ashley) Bagnoli of Port Orange, FL, Dominick Bagnoli of St. Petersburg, FL, Devin Bagnoli of Daytona Beach, FL; his daughter, Kristi (Brandon Houck) Bagnoli of Denver, CO; two sisters: Angela Antronica of Boardman, OH and Alexis Bagnoli of Canfield, OH; and brother, Steven Bagnoli of Boardman, OH. Additionally, Rick will be missed by his life partner, Debi Bagnoli and their beloved three grandchildren: Carter and Braylon Bagnoli of Port Orange, FL and Curren Houck of Denver, CO. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Angelo DeCapua and a cat, Bully Boy – with whom he shared a special bond.
Rick grew up in a strong Italian household, and carried with him the lifelong values learned therein. He was a great father, proud and giving grandfather, and compassionate friend. With a unique, raspy voice that became his trademark, he loved cars and doing restoration and bodywork. Focusing on building street rods, including his treasured ‘67 Chevelle SS 396, he truly was a “Chevy guy” despite having worked at Gary Yeoman’s Ford at the Daytona Beach Auto Mall as a finisher after he moved to Daytona Beach from Ohio. In 2010, Rick joined his son Ricky at the family business, Ultra Audioworks, and often worked behind the scenes, painting and finishing cars, but also making sure major deadlines were met. In the last few years, an avid Ohio State football fan, Rick also enjoyed fishing in his time off, making memories with his family. Although he enjoyed fishing, he was not a fan of boats, preferring instead to stay onshore. This led to many instances where his sense of humor and playful personality came out - especially when his grandbabies were with him, as they became his world.
Rick may be remembered by many as a gearhead or a football fan, but many more will remember the man who always took care of everyone else before himself, the man who was not only proud of his family, but was proud of where his life had taken him and who was in it. He will be missed by all, and not soon forgotten.
In keeping with Rick’s wishes, there will be no funeral services in Florida. Burial at Woodland Cemetery, Port Orange FL will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, 5/19/2016. A gathering of friends and family will take place in the future in order to commemorate his life, place his permanent gravestone, and keep his memory alive.
