Richard Jay Hill, “Rick”, passed away the morning of February 22, 2018. He was 57. A 1978 graduate of Spruce Creek High School, Rick was a 12 year combat veteran, reaching the rank of Sergeant in the US Marine Corps, before transferring to the Reserves. Rick loved joking, camping, outdoor life, his dogs, and the Marines. He is survived by 3 grandchildren: Emily, Michael, and Hudson Hill; 1 surviving brother: James Hills; 2 surviving sisters: Susan Nichols and Sandra Ellis; and long-time friend, Barbara Cecil. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery, 320 White Street, Daytona Beach, with Rev. Bill Beebe officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pawsibilities Rescue Group, Port Orange.
