Well, it's been 5 years since you left your earthly home.  Our hearts are still as broken today as they were the day you went to your Heavenly home. I wish you could know how much you were loved and how much you meant to each and every one of us. We love you,

Jimmy and I are so glad the two of you stopped by before Christmas last year.  It was the first time Roddy was with us without a church crowd around and we were and still are Blessed by the visit.  It is more than wonderful to think of eternity we yet will have together.  And that time is soon.  For the dead will soon rise in Christ at the trumpet sound and we who are alive will join them in the air. Forever we will be together exploring the unlimited wonders of Father's grace and the place He has prepared for us.

The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, Strengthener, Counselor and Helper in the days ahead.  You are well known and loved in the Throne Room of Father God.  He is the husband to the widow and He will be a husband to you.  He says to you MaryAnn that he is well pleased with your faithfulness to Him and to Roddy.  You have never wavered.  The days ahead will not be days of sorrow, but days of His presence greater than ever before.  Jimmy and I love you.  PRAYERS!

It is with great heartache and sadness that we have to say goodbye this soon. We have wonderful memories of Roddy he was full of life he loved to laugh and smile he loved life and his family. Roddy was a good man we will miss him very much even though we were miles apart we still thought of him and the family a lot! We Love you all and are so sorry for the loss of Roddy he will be missed but not forgotten he is in our hearts forever! I am with great sadness that I was unable to be at the service but my heart will always be there for my family and my prayers for the Lord to give his strength and peace and comfort in this time of loss ! MaryAnn so sorry for your loss.  It was so enjoyable growing up with five male cousins right next door.  Roddy came into the Vaughn family and I enjoyed him and Terry as much as the Vaughn boys. Fond memories of growing up with Roddy.  Sorry we didn't see much of each other in our adult life.  I guess the last time I saw you and Roddy was at Louise's birthday or funeral. To our Dear Roddy, Mary Ann and family.  We are so sad to loose Roddy at such an early age.  Roddy was one of our favorite people.  To know him is to love him.  We have watched he and his family grow up.  It has been fun to see their family grow.  He is such a good person inside and out.  There is definitely another Angel in Heaven,   We will keep in touch and if you need us,  please let us know.  We love you all.  


I'm Christy, the wife of Michael Modica who worked with Roddy at FabCo. We have a 2 year old daughter, Alexa, and I would bring her to the office time and again to see her Daddy in action. One of the best memories I have is bringing her in, she was around a year old,  and this particular time when she saw Roddy she walked right over to him, reached out for him to pick her up, and he gladly did. Our daughter doesn't do this to most of her family members, let alone someone she's only seen 1 or 2 times. It warmed my heart and I know it did Roddy's, too, as you should of seen the smile on both of their faces. 
This speaks volumes to Roddy's character and gentle spirit. Alexa, with child-like faith entrusted Roddy and welcomed a warm embrace. Roddy was one of those I didn't expect to be so excited to see Alexa each time I brought her in, but he was, and I will miss seeing him love on her for years to come. 

Michael and I send our prayers of comfort to the family, Roddy will be greatly missed. He was a special man who made great impact on peoples lives, even if they only knew him for a short period of time. 

Mary Ann and kids. I truly miss Roddy. He was my running buddy in high school and after. I love him like a brother. I have missed him after the move to Florida.  We had some great times and I have missed him dearly.  Susan and I send our deepest sympathies.  We are heartbroken.

Maryann, Shane & Jamie, I am truly  saddened to hear of Rod's passing. He's was one of the people you meet in life that  because of his wit and calm demeanor he made it a pleasure to meet and talk to.  Since Rod and I shared the same birthday the memory of us wishing each other best wishes ( and him annually reminding me that I was the older if the two) will be a lasting memory for me.

Oh words are hard to express right now so much heartache for you all,  Roddy was  one of my first cousins and even though miles apart I still have sweet memories of growing up and spending time together at Mama and Papa King’s House.  He always played like he was my Daddy and we would all pile into a old white van that Papa had and of Course he always got to drive,  and be in control but we were okay with that because he has always had our best interests at heart even then!  I loved him and even when grown and miles apart ...he was still special and always has shown a special love towards my Mother and our whole family.  His life was blessed and his spirit will live on in his sweet loving wife, kids and grandkids....but the comfort we can all have is knowing that he is waiting for all of us to join him and our loved ones in heaven one sweet day,  Love you all,   Cathy and Ricky Whitworth

We are sorry that we are not able to make it to the funeral. Our hearts go out to all of you, and we are praying for you during this difficult time.  We still have fun memories of our Christmas get togethers  at Dad and Mom's, watching old slides and listening to embarrassing stories about "the boys".  Roddy  was loved by so many and was blessed with such a wonderful supportive family.  May you experience God's grace, peace and comfort during this time and in the days ahead.
