

Tobia, Romie Franklin, 86, of Edgewater passed away September 11, 2014 at the Halifax Health Hospice Care Center. He was born in West Virginia son of August and Alice (Burns) Tobia. Romie honorably served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a diesel mechanic from 1946-1948 and was employed by General Motors for 17 years. He moved here from Ohio in 1973 and was a member of the Calvary Christian Center, New Smyrna Beach, Sons of Italy, and the Deborah heart and lung association. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Donna, children, Carolyn Gantner husband Egon, Marvin Tobia wife Linda, James Tobia wife Patricia and Lisa Hughes husband Jamie, grandchildren, Egon Gantner II, Christina Norman, Christopher Hughes, April Killian, Amy Tobia, Denise Tobia, Ronnie Tobia, David Tobia, Robert Tobia, Michell Tobia, and Donnie Tobia; several great grandchildren; brothers, Paul Tobia, Billy Tobia and Woody Tobia and sisters, Naomi Lilly, and Sylvia Smelt. Friends may call Monday 12-1 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange.
