Shane Eric Diekman Sr.

Born on August 22, 1972, Shane spent much of his life working in construction, where he took pride in hard work and providing for his family.

If you knew Shane, you knew laughter was never far behind. His dark sense of humor and endless supply of dad jokes could brighten even the hardest days. Even after suffering a stroke and facing challenges of his own, he never stopped making the people around him laugh. His ability to find humor in nearly any situation was one of the many things that made him unforgettable.

Shane found joy in life’s simple moments. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, playing poker and playing disc golf in his younger years. He also cherished the time he spent living in the Florida Keys, a place that always held a special place in his heart.

Above all, Shane loved his children. They were the greatest joy of his life and he loved each of them fiercely. He proudly raised Lexie as his own from the day she was born.

Shane is survived by his loving mother, Tony; his children, Lexie, Erica, Shane Jr., Devin, and Kayla; his brother, Corey; his nephew, Brandon; his son-in-law, Dylan; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love he shared.

Though his family wishes they had more time with him, they find comfort in knowing his laughter, stories, and spirit will remain with them forever. His memory will live on in every fishing trip, every day spent by the water, every sarcastic joke shared around the table, and every moment someone chooses to find humor during life’s hardest times.

In accordance with Shane’s wishes, no public services will be held. His family will privately honor his life by scattering his ashes in the Florida Keys, a place he loved and once called home.

Those who knew Shane are encouraged to remember him by spending time with the people they love, enjoying a day by the water, and sharing a laugh even in the hard times because that’s exactly how he would have wanted to be remembered.
