Tammy was born in Alexandria, Virginia. She moved to Florida with her family and met and married the love of her life, Michael. Mike and Tammy traveled the country together as a military couple, and Tammy was extremely proud to be a military wife. Of all their travels, she held a special fondness for their time stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where the mountains, memories, and military life wove together beautifully. A short time after leaving the military and settling in Port Orange, Florida, they were blessed with the arrival of their son, Justin.
Tammy had several passions in life: loving and caring for her family, tending to her beautiful garden, and expressing her creativity through crafting. She was a master gardener, planting zinnia flowers, sunflowers, mums, pepper plants, and tomatoes with care and joy. Many of her family and friends were blessed by the bounty she shared—receiving beautiful vases filled with her flowers or baskets brimming with homegrown vegetables. She held a deep affection for all things miniature—especially dollhouses and delicate Christmas villages that she brought to life with imagination and precision.
Tammy was also deeply devoted to family genealogy and creating meaningful scrapbooks, preserving memories with a historian’s heart and a mother’s love. She found joy in garage sales and thrift stores, always with an eye for hidden treasures and supplies for her next decoupage project or creative endeavor.
First, foremost, and above all else, Tammy loved and believed in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She trusted in the Lord and turned to Him for comfort and guidance through every chapter of her life—offering praise in both joy and hardship. We are comforted in knowing that she is in the arms of Jesus in heaven.
Always quick with a smile, Tammy loved conversations about her family and all of the simple things in life. She would do anything asked of her to the very best of her ability, and she was talented beyond measure in many things. She will be missed greatly by those who loved her and cared for her. Heaven has truly gained an angel, and we know for sure, through the grace of our Lord, we will see her again one day.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margie Lee Ball; her grandfather, Arnold Ball; her grandmother, Mary Lee Brackens; her grandfather, Herman Walter Brackens, Sr.; and her brother, Brian James Ball.
She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband, Michael; her son, Justin (Shelby); her mother, Jane Ball Brackens; her father, Arnold Dale Ball; her sister, Jennifer Marie Margrey; and her dear friend (more like a brother), Steven Shepherd. She is also survived by her Sandusky family: her father, Jack Sandusky; her mother, Brenda Sandusky; her sister, Jodie Swanson (Mark); her brother, Andy Sandusky (Cindy); her niece, Caitlyn Garcia (Joe); her nephew, Brandon Sandusky (Ashley); and her nephew, Jaron Sandusky.
