On January 30, 2021, the Lord called our Husband/Dad/Grandpa and Uncle home to be with Him. Terry had fought a good fight and through out his battle, he kept the faith. He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Dorothy Stark of Mount Joy, PA, and son Timothy Lee Stark of Daytona Beach, FL. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy his loving wife, "Hon", Janie, his loving daughter, Kimberly(John) Boettner. 6 grandchildren: Kirsten Stark Woodall, Evan Boettner, Amanda Stark(Chaise) Slone, Emily Boettner, Victoria Stark and Todd Boettner. And 3 great-grands Shayla and Brayden (Kirsten's), and Billy (Amanda's). Terry loved the Lord. He loved sharing about a God who loved him so much that He sent His only son to die on the cross for his/our sins. He graduated from Donegal High School in '61 in Mount Joy, PA. Straight out of high school he went into the Navy where he headed for the Great Lakes training center in Chicago, IL. He was the only one from his Company 457 to get FL. He remembers stepping off the plane to a sweltering 60° heat wave. He was stationed in Sanford, FL, for his entire 4 years with the Heavy Attack Squadron 5, who would be carrying the big-bomb, if needed in wartime. His title was Dispersing Clerk and he loved every minute of it. He's everybody's friend.
While in the Navy, Janie and Terry became pen pals through mutual friends. They wrote to each other while he was overseas. When he got back to the States and stationed in Sanford, FL, he came knocking on Janie's front door for a date. When Janie answered the door he asked for her older sister. She said who are you looking for and he said, "Janie." She said, "She's with her husband, I think you're looking for me." Janie was just 4' 11" and he was 6' 1", the picture she had sent him made my her look much taller than what she really was. But as they say, the rest is history. They would have been celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary on May 2, 2021.
After the Navy Terry worked for Western & Southern Life Insurance Co. ('65-'68), Beneficial Financial Co. ('68-'69), Westside Atlantic Bank ('69-'72), John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance ('72-'77). But in '77 God called Terry to faithfully serve at White Chapel Church of God/Warner Christian Academy for the next 34 years in Publications which he did happily. He also taught ('79-'80) Typing 1 and Accounting. He started a men's softball league from '81-'86. He built the original ballfield. He absolutely loved that ministry and spoke of it often. He worked at First Baptist Daytona ('91-'06) and ran their Graphic Design and Publications for 15 years while working at White Chapel/Warner. He was an avid sports fanatic. He loved baseball, football, playing guitar, and record collecting. His favorite sports team though was by far the Phillies. Terry will forever be loved and in our hearts until we meet him and Tim again at the River of Life in Heaven.
