

Born on August 5, 1946, in Kittery, Maine, at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Bohara) Hudgens. His 50 - year career in the Navy commenced at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where he dedicated 17 years before transitioning to the Naval Submarine Base in Groton.
Following a brief stint at the Submarine base, Tom collaborated with two former colleagues to establish Consolidated Launcher Technology (CLT), a specialized company that catered to submarine launcher and weapons handling systems for the Navy's submarine fleet. After 13 years with CLT, Tom joined the Naval Undersea Warfare Center and Base Systems in Newport, Rhode Island, concluding his illustrations career in 2015.
Throughout his tenure, Tom had the privilege of working with a diverse group of accomplished professionals from various regions of the United States.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Tom engaged in a variety of recreational activities, including softball, basketball, baseball, golf, and horseshoes. He also enjoyed fishing from his boat or kayak.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Stephanie (Day) Hudgens; his son, David T. Hudgens of Connecticut; his daughter, Julie Crompton of New York; two stepdaughters, Alicia Duquette of New Hampshire and Carrie Newman of Florida; one stepson, Dave Duquette of New Hampshire; his sister, Mary Ann Hudgens of Connecticut; and his beloved grandchildren, James and Kaitlyn Hubbard, Olivia and Oonagh Hudgens, and Corey and Evan Ferrigno.
Private funeral services will be held in New Hampshire at the convenience of the family.
The Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, located at 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, Florida has been entrusted with the care of the deceased.
