

Victoria Rose Dyer, 81, of LaFlosita Drive, Port Orange died Saturday, November 7, 2015. Rose was born in Boston, MA and spent her younger years in Connecticut. In April 1954, she married her loving husband, John C. Dyer who predeceased her in 2009. Rose spent many years in Vermont and was an avid skier. When not on the slopes, she and her best friend Mary Pluff made toys which were designed and made for the US Ski Team and local universities. Upon retirement, Rose and John spent many years traversing the country exploring every nook and cranny in their 5th wheel. After spending time on the road, they settled in Port Orange and Rose spent several years working at the Volusia County Safety Council. Upon her second retirement, Rose enjoyed going to the beach, spending time with her family and spending time playing cards and dining with many of her LaCosta Village friends. She also loved cuddling with her furry friend, Chelsea. Rose is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Linda) Dyer of Port Orange, daughter Lynn (Walker) Richardson of New Smyrna Beach, grandson Matthew (Amy) Galbo of Port Orange, granddaughter Molly Richardson of Deltona, and great grandchildren Amber Paytas and Zachary Galbo also of Port Orange. She also leaves to cherish her memory several nephews and a niece.
A Celebration of Rose's life will be held Thursday 11/12/15 at 11am at Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, 4084 Halifax Dr., Port Orange, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, (386) 760-9660.
