Virginia Angiulli, 97, of Port Orange, Florida, peacefully passed away to heaven on August 17, 2018, with family members by her side. She was born January 19, 1921, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to Vittoria and Costanza Gentilozzi. She grew up in Clarksburg, West Virginia, where she met her husband of 60 years, Ralph Angiulli (deceased). They moved to Dearborn, Michigan, for a short time, then on to Florida in 1959 to find work, escape the winters and raise their family.
Virginia (Ginny) the eldest of five is survived by her brother Victor Gentilozzi, Jr. Other siblings (pre-deceased) include Mary Carafelli, Albert Gentilozzi and Frank Gentilozzi. Virginia and Ralph had three sons, Ralph (Kay - deceased) of Kissimmee FL, John (Linda — deceased) of Ponce Inlet FL, and Dan (Geri) of New Smyrna Beach FL; five grandchildren (Matthew, Brady, Jonathan, Michael and Sarah) and seven great grandchildren.
Virginia, a loving wife and caring mother, also worked as a teacher’s aide for Seminole County schools. She was proud of her Italian heritage and everyone raved over her authentic Italian cooking. Her recipes are coveted treasures in the family! Virginia loved her family dearly, enjoyed the simplicity of home life, and instilled a strong work ethic in her children. She was an avid bargain hunter, forever shopping with coupons and frequenting neighborhood yard sales. Virginia loved retirement with Ralph, living a “gypsy” life traveling the country in an RV. She and Ralph are no doubt on the road again together, exploring places unseen.
Virginia was a member of the Catholic Church of the Epiphany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange, FL 32127, or to Halifax Hospice of Volusia Flagler (Port Orange), 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. A memorial mass will be held on September 8, 2018, at 11:00 AM at The Catholic Church of the Epiphany.
