Born on August 30, 1940, he lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a genuine care for others. A devoted Catholic, his faith was a guiding force throughout his life, reflected in his compassion, humility, and commitment to serving others.
He dedicated over 40 years to education as a math teacher and professor, shaping the minds and futures of countless students. His passion for learning extended beyond the classroom, reflected in his lifelong love of reading and intellectual curiosity.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Penn State and pursued his graduate studies at Fordham University, laying the foundation for a career marked by excellence and dedication.
In his younger years, he volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul and supported other charitable organizations, embodying his lifelong commitment to helping those in need. A man of quiet strength and a sweet, caring nature, he was known for his thoughtful spirit and unwavering support of those around him.
He found great joy in travel and treasured the rich connections he maintained with his loving family in Pittsburgh and Guatemala. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father, whose love and guidance were constants in the lives of those closest to him.
His kindness, generosity, and gentle presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and love that will continue to inspire his family and community for generations to come.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Hilda McGraw; his son, Christopher McGraw and his wife, Kelly McGraw; and his daughter, Nancy McGraw and her husband, Todd Fenton.
To honor William's memory, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House (via the AdventHealth East Florida Foundation ) or to the Dementia Society of America . These gifts sustain vital hospice services for our community and support ongoing efforts in dementia research and care.
