

William E. Yanneck, 86, of Port Orange FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017. William was born in The Bronx, NY on May 1, 1930 to William and Roseltha Yanneck. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan, whom he married on June 3, 1951; children: William and his wife, Diane; Mary Ellen and her husband, Michael Bower; and Kenneth and his partner, Julie Adamec; five grandchildren, Annaleisa Bower; Alanna, Kyle and Ryan Yanneck and Jonathan Adamec. William proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951 through 1953 where he was a member of the 21st Anti-aircraft Artillery Battalion. During his service he achieved the rank of Sergeant, First Class. William was also awarded three Bronze Service Stars, the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. William retired from his career at Western Union where he was the Building Administrator at the Company’s Saddle River, NJ Headquarters. William enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States, bowling and was an avid New York Yankees fan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church in Port Orange, FL at 10:00am on March 23, 2017. Burial will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL with full military honors.
