Willis L. Hager Sr., 86, of Daytona Beach, FL passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015. Born on August 1, 1929 to Jesse and Carrie Hager, Willis held many jobs in his lifetime – from farmer to cook, from restaurant owner to family man, but perhaps none he enjoyed more than being a mechanic. Always working on vehicles, or fixing up the house, Willis fascinated his family with his repair skills. A true “jack of all trades”, Willis enjoyed life with his loved ones, but especially his wife Juanita, who preceded him in death in 2012. Willis Sr. is survived by his son, Willis L. (Myrna) Hager of Daytona Beach; daughter, Kathy (Kelsey) Day of Whitesburg, KY; six grandchildren: Lee, Kay, Jessica, Tasha, Kelli, and Lee; as well as 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. A “character” in all sense of the word, the family takes comfort in knowing Willis Sr. & Juanita have been reunited – together forever in eternity.
A Celebration of Willis' Life will be held Saturday, 12/19/2015 at 1pm at CrossRoads Baptist Church, 1851 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Willis' honor.
I'm FreeDon't grieve for me now, I'm free.I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.I could not stay another dayto laugh, to love, to work or play.Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at close of day.If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much;
good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
for God wanted me now.
He set me free.
