Anna was born on November 3, 1930, to the late Cesare Pertusi and Virginia Martignoni. She was the beloved sister of the late Norma Lombardi.
On February 3, 1951, Anna married the love of her life, Alfred Pavarini. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage until Alfred’s passing on September 25, 2020. Their life together was filled with love, family, and many treasured memories.
Anna and Alfred lived in North Massapequa, New York, from 1956 until 1976, when they relocated to South Florida. They first made their home in Fort Lauderdale from 1976 to 1978, followed by Boca Raton from 1978 to 2000. In 2000, Anna and Alfred settled in Port St. Lucie, where Anna remained until her passing.
A dedicated and accomplished woman, Anna worked as a financial controller for Holman Enterprises from 1978 until her retirement in 1995. She was also a longtime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.
Anna was a woman of remarkable sweetness and gentle spirit. She had a quiet, loving nature and a kind heart that made her deeply cherished by those who knew her. She loved her family above all else and treasured the time she spent with them. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed many years of travel with her beloved husband. Her greatest joy, however, was simply being surrounded by the people she loved.
Anna will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Peter Pavarini and his wife, Colleen, and Joanne Gilligan and her husband, Michael; her four grandchildren, Kara Gilligan, Krista Young, David Pavarini, and John Pavarini; and her four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Austin, and Gabby Young, and Mia Pavarini.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on October 19, 2026, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Though her life has come to an end, the love Anna gave so freely to her family will live on through the generations she leaves behind. Her gentle presence, her loving heart, and the memories of a life well lived will forever remain a treasured part of her family.
May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of God, reunited with her beloved Alfred and those who went before her.
In loving memory of Anna, the family welcomes memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping to bring hope and healing to children and families in need. Donations may be made online at www.stjude.org/donate.
