Barbara Ann Piehl

Born on April 21, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara grew up in Willoughby, Ohio, with her loving parents, Donald and Floy Tuttle, her brother, Jerry, and her sister, Linda.

Barbara married the love of her life, Terry Piehl, in 1969. Together, they raised their two loving daughters in Mentor and later Willoughby, Ohio. In 2007, Barbara and Terry moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where they became longtime members of Faith Congregational Church.

Barbara was a loving and treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend to all who knew her. She was a trivia buff, loved music, and shared her beautiful singing voice as a member of the Faith Congregational Church choir.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Terry; her daughters, Sondra Turek of Avon, Ohio, and Elizabeth (Phil) Broomell of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Matthew (Emily) Turek, Amanda Turek, Rebecca (Jack) DeLong, Alex, Jack, Tyler, and Lauren Broomell; and her great-grandchildren, Dakota Turek and Macklin DeLong.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Floy Tuttle; her brother, Jerry Tuttle; her sister, Linda Hinkley; and her grandson, Jimmy.

The family will celebrate Barbara’s life with Celebration of Life ceremonies in both Florida and Ohio.

The Florida Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Congregational Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and will be led by Pastor Rob Hunter.

The Ohio Celebration of Life will take place over Thanksgiving weekend on Saturday, November 28. The time and location will be announced here soon.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Barbara’s memory and contribute to the fight to end Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related diseases may support her granddaughter Amanda’s team in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Amanda’s Team, “Come on Barbie, Let’s Go Party”, was created in Barbara’s honor and is a wonderful way to continue her legacy while supporting a cause close to her family’s heart.
