Born in Colorado Springs, CO, he was a resident Port St. Lucie, FL for several years.
Lt. Parrett was a Law Enforcement Officer with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department. He was hired and sworn in as Deputy Sheriff for the Dept. of Corrections in May 1994. November 1995 he transferred to JOTC Boot Camp as a Drill Instructor. August 1997, he was selected to become a Deputy Sheriff with the Road Patrol Division. September 1999, Lt. Parrett was chosen to fill a position in the K-9 Unit where he was partnered with Maverick. After the retirement of Maverick, he was chosen to fill an open position in the Warrants Unit. August 2006, Detective Parrett was appointed as a US Marshal assigned to US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force Southern District of Florida. February 2016, Detective Parrett was promoted to the rank of Corporal and placed in the K-9 Unit where he was partnered with his new canine, Nero. In October 2016, he graduated from the Canine Academy with a certificate in Tracking, Patrol, and Narcotics. February 2017, Corporal Bryan Parrett was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he remained until his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant. During his nearly 24 years of service with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, he received numerous commendations and thank you letters. He also received the Meritorious Service Award in February 2014.
Bryan was predeceased by his father, Douglas Parrett and daughter, Casey Parrett.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Parrett of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, John Parrett and daughter, Paige Parrett of Port St. Lucie, FL; two step-sons, Jordan Keehn and Jacob Strotz of Port St. Lucie, FL; mother, Ursula Parrett of Ft. Pierce, FL; brother, Daniel Parrett of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister, Shirley Lindstadt of Ft. Pierce, FL; nieces and nephews, Ashley Lindstadt, Aaron Lindstadt and Austin Parrett; extended family, Cindy Palmer and Chelsea Wells-Jones.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 3:00PM – 5:00PM at Aycock at Tradition, Celebration of Life Center, 12571 SW Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, FL.
