Carmela Martha Zito

She graduated from New Brunswick High School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She worked in the South Brunswick school system as a cafeteria worker for many years. She also worked at her family owned Zito’s Sunoco in North Brunswick, New Jersey. She moved to Hollywood Beach, Florida in 1968 and owned and operated ALCarm Motel from 1968 to 1974.

Carmela married Alphonse Zito in 1945 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. They were married for 30 years. She is survived by 3 children; Marion Morgan, of Fort Pierce, Florida, Albert Zito, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Larry Zito, of Sunrise, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Carmela was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Zito; her son, Charles Zito; and her granddaughter, Michelle Zito.

Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Aycock Funeral Home - Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel, 1170 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at St. Lucie Catholic Church, 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. Interment will be at a later date at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City, Florida.
