Messages from his family:

Sheena (Daughter) Dad has always been my hero. His life journey always made me strive to do better. I'll always cherish the times we watched movies together. His strength and strong will lives on forever. The song is ended, but the melody lingers on.

Heather (Daughter) He was not just a father, he was a son, a brother, a husband, and a soldier. People often come and go throughout our lives, Dan made an impact on all the people around him. His smile was infectious. His attitude contagious. He always knew how to make a lady smile. No matter what we were doing, it was always a good time. He will be missed by many, most of all by those who knew him best. There are so many wonderful memories. I am proud to have them all. Dad you were so kind-hearted, Noble, chivalrous, forgiving, loving, spirited, honorable, humorous and I could keep going on and on...I just want to say thank you. Thank you for my life. Thank you for being you. I'm missing you so much. Love You Always, Heather. (Your First born).

Raven (Daughter) Rest Easy Papa. Dad I just want to say thank you, for everything you’ve done for me. You have made me a better person, made me more understanding, made me more loving, and made me in general. You were an amazing person and father, one that could never be replaced. My hero, my dragon, and my teddy bear. I wish we could have made more memories with you but god said it was your time. Although it will be so hard to accept that I could never hold your hand, watch a movie, and see your happy smile again but, just know that I will see you again someday. When that day comes, I will never let go when I do see you. I love you forever and will miss you forever, until I see you again. Love Your Daughter, Raven.

Diego (Grandson) Although I didn’t get to spend much time with you, I have heard so many great stories about you and would loved to have gotten the chance to know you better.

Darin (Son) I want you to know you were the first hero I have ever idolized. You of everyone in the family truly began the legacy of our name and set the stage for those of us who follow to continue to make it great.

Devyn (Son) Dad, I love you from the top to the bottom of my heart. Everybody loves you and you know that. You smile down on us every day. Everyone will miss you. I cherish every memory I have of you. You have been strong for all of us.

Daniel, was a talented person. He could draw and could play the guitar. He had a great sense of humor. Daniel was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. Like our Sisters and parents I will miss you greatly. Vaya con Dios! Big Brother.

You were such a strong human being, one who was courageous, respected, kind hearted , & a hero to everyone around you. I remember all the fun & joy you put in our hearts while being around you, I remember the night I took you to my valentines day school dance, we had the time of our life that night and that’ll always be a memory that I cherish with you. One thing I’ll truly miss is your infamous cheese dip that you’d make for us for any occasion or even the nights when you'd make your infamous spicy chilli for the family , the jokes you’d make , the cool specialty effects movies you'd put on , all the movie collections you collected , your loud WHOO’N during a special event , your passion for dragons & seeing all your new tattoos & cool meanings behind them. No one was expecting this to happen so sudden, but through it all you put up a long and great fight throughout this battle & thats what makes you the strong man & hero that you are & forever will be .

You will be truly missed uncle, we love & miss you so much .
