
Mike was born on November 8, 1953, in Springfield, Tennessee, to Austin and Lela Axley. He later made Florida his home, where he built a life devoted to his family, his career, and the many interests he enjoyed.
Mike was a retired police officer with the Jupiter Police Department. He took great pride in his career and in the years he spent serving his community.
In his younger years, Mike enjoyed scuba diving and collecting coins. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and loved all things mechanical. He especially enjoyed teaching his boys how to repair golf carts and work on mechanical projects. Mike was also a devoted animal lover who cherished spending time with his family. He loved sharing stories from his childhood and had a wonderful gift for telling jokes and making others laugh.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Angela Axley.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Axley; his sons, Christopher and Heather Axley, Nicholas Axley, and Brandon and Amanda Axley; and his granddaughter, Audra Axley, all of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
He is also survived by his brothers, Harold and Betsy Axley, Danny and Billie Axley, and Steve and Martha Axley; and his sisters, Bonnie Bean, Joan and Gary Young, Helen Nash, Jackie and Jerry Stagner, all of Tennessee, and Irene Axley of Florida.
Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His mechanical knowledge, love of animals, devotion to family, storytelling, and sense of humor will remain treasured memories for all who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
