Dolores spent her life caring for others. First, as a nurse then as the heart of our family. She was married to just one, Mother of three, Grandmother to nine and Great Grandmother of eleven.
She had three brothers, one sister, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Her legacy lives on in the lives and generations of those she nurtured. Each one touched by her kindness, generosity and her way of welcoming them.

Dolores, was more than a Matriarch, she was a source of comfort, laughter and joy.

She was the heart of her family.

She was both meek and modest, never seeking attention, yet always present.

Dolores had a gift for making warm meals and holiday gatherings that brought family together. Her home a haven, her table a place of comfort and her presence a blessing.

She gave freely of herself. She volunteered her time and gave generously to others, never forgetting one's birthday, holiday or special occasion. In addition, she offered support and provided generous charitable contributions to those she found favor on.

Dolores enjoyed traveling and did so in her younger years. She traveled to England, Ireland, France, Switzerland and Germany as well as many domestic destinations here in the states.

She was a historian at heart, keeping up with the times, and she seemed to have a tremendous recall of all.

She enjoyed reading books and singing songs to the little ones, and treated many to a movie.

She enjoyed baking cakes and did so for birthdays, weddings and special events. She was also a crafter, she knitted, sewed and enjoyed needlepointing too.  Often, giving them away to any one who showed interest or commented on there beauty.

Dolores had strong Christian values. She truly was the embodiment of the fruits of the Spirit- Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

Dolores, truly looked forward to heaven and to the many of those who had gone on ahead.

She will be missed.

I met Grandma Beck (that’s what I always called her) 🙂 for the first time in Port St. Lucie when I was visiting my daughter me and her went to a museum 
And stopped at a couple beacheswhich I really enjoyed and I enjoyed the day with her, however, on the way to the museum, the drawbridge started to go up, and she looked at me and said I think I can make it, and I thought she was for real and then she looked over at me and grinned I thought that was funny. I’ll never forget that about her. She was very nice I got a chance to see her again and talk to her two years ago in Florida. I know she will be missed a lot by  her family. ❤️

Dear Dolores,

   I've been thinking about this since you left. I pray you're in Heaven and are happy with the family that has gone before.  I was lucky to have you as my sister for 86 1/2 years. You were a wonderful sister with all your help and understanding.  You helped me in so many ways as a young girl, understanding life, and as a young mother, you helped me in every way:  living with you and you taking care of my young son, helping me be a young mother and wife.

   All of our life we had fun with lunches and dinners and family gatherings, which you usually hosted.  The big hosting was my wedding, making all the clothes for the wedding, hosting the reception at your house and making all the food.  So often you had room to take my child for the weekend or for a few days for me. Whenever there were any family problems, you were the first that I turned to. I miss you so much, being able to talk to you.

   Your nursing career extended beyond your workload. You aided all of us. especially Mom and Dad. You always wanted to help.  When you moved to Florida, it was like you opened a spot for us all to come and vacation, which we all did.  Your gifts throughout the years were so thoughtful and caring.  I'll forever treasure the stained-glass etchings Bill made, your embroidery of tablecloths, linen, placements...  all the time you spent and then would give them to me. First of the best gifts to thank you for is making me laugh when I wanted to cry.

   Oh, I miss you so.  I miss you so.  I will be glad to see you when I get to Heaven. Thank you, Dolores. Thank you. Thank you.  Enjoy your heavenly life.

Dolores was my sister, my only sister. But she was also my friend, probably the best friend I ever had. She cared for me in my needs and we shared years and years of happy times together. When we grew older she and husband Bill moved to Florida for their retirement years. We visited when we could but eventually our contact was limited to phone calls. Younger days and happy times were reviewed and memories recalled in our conversations. Eventually hearing issues limited even these pleasures. That's when sadness and realization that our mortal contact was coming to an end set in. I look forward to reuniting with Dolores in the next life where we once again will be joined in happiness.

I will never forget going to the Bethal matinee movies with her in that big baby blue Ford LTD, Talking on her CB, sending out may day / SOS signals, requesting a search and  rescue party to all the truckers because the  plane I was flying  instruments were all haywire and I was  going down fast over over the Bermuda Triangle. The truckers were pretty upset and expressed their  sincere desire for  the crash to be expedited. She just smiled at me and laughed, we had a great time that day, and I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China.

Dolores was the best grandmother, she always made you feel so loved. She had such a kind soul and I loved being around her. I remember going to Florida to visit my grandparents in the summertime with my mom Dad and little sister and we had such a good time. I remember riding her three wheeled bicycle with the basket on the front and coming home to her trailer to a nice home-cooked meal I loved spending time with my grandparents in Florida. We swam in their community pool and sat outside and talked for hours. I’ll cherish those memories forever and if we were lucky, sometimes grandpa would let us have some of his favorite snack, which was a bag of cheetos lol. My grandma was as sharp as a tack ,as a child I loved listening to her tell me about her childhood and how she met my grandpa and how they fell in love. She was the best storyteller and I really loved her deeply. She’ll truly be missed but I know that my dad and my uncle Tim and my grandpa were waiting for her in heaven and what a beautiful reunion it must have been. I always remember the times we shared and what a beautiful, kind woman my grandmother was.  Her smile was infectious and she was such a beautiful person inside and out. Memories of Mom

The hearts of those that knew Dolores are heavy with sadness but also with joy that she has the rewards that she worked hard for and believed in. Kim and I were lucky to have had her as a inspiration and source of love in our marriage. She is dearly missed. It is an often used phrase but she is in a better place, being loved by my Dad, brothers,  her sons and Grandma and Grandpa Clary. Jesus was there with open arms to welcome back one of his sheep.
As memories go, growing up, times were much simpler with things like her making Kool aid for us playing baseball in the backyard, a nice dinner on the table every day at 4 pm, and love in motherly doses. She was proud but humble with her achievements in achieving her RN and involvement in women in business association. I remember her getting ready for work pressing her white nurses uniform and working hard to make the patients feel better. She made us feel better also. It could not have been easy raising 3 boys on limited income, but she and dad did the best they could and helped me thru school and into adult life. I still remember the close ties she has with her brothers and sister, mom an dad, and friends from church. She was proud that I married Kim and raised Adam and Jessica along with great grandkids. She loved us all and we loved her.
In closing, keep the memories of good times close and keep the faith. Lastly, even though she was not perfect (she hated the Beatles), a wise man once said.
