

Ernie was born July 20, 1951 in Shalmar, Maryland. Ernie proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Engineer. Following his military service, Ernie retired from the General Motors Corporation, after 34 years of service.
Ernie loved the outdoors, especially hunting in West Virginia with family and friends. He had a passion for classic cars and car racing. He became a certified welder and millwright, a licensed class B truck driver and his favorite was when he became a certified race car driver and won his first race in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife of 22 years, Sharon Oaks Hill-Paugh; children, Crystal Paugh Bardroff, Amber Paugh Horchar (Zachary), Todd Hill (Kellie), Michael Hill (Jessica); 10 grandchildren Jade, Coral, Tyler, Presley, Bennett, Emily, Adrianna, Colby, Bryson and Piper; 2 great-grandchildren, Leilani, Josephine; 3 brothers, James Paugh, Jr., Richard Paugh, Warren Paugh (Karen); 4 sisters, Barbara Hilsher (James), Beverly Buchanan (Thomas), Betty Arbuckle (James), Belinda Dolan (Timothy); and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family that loved him and will miss him dearly. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, James and Beulah (Shepard) Paugh.
Private services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America organization.
