Frank R. Vanasdale, 88, passed away at his home in Port St Lucie Friday April 19, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born June 4, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to John and Margaret Nugent Vanasdale. He moved to Youngstown, Ohio as a young child living there several years before moving to Port St Lucie in 1983.
Prior to moving to Florida, he was a crane operator for Westinghouse Electric in Sharon, PA. In Florida, he retired from both Southern States Utilities and Winn Dixie.
He leaves behind his wife of 67 years Dolores (Ubert) Vanasdale, whom he married May 21, 1952, his sons Dennis (Connie), Tim (Doreen), Cary, and daughter Debra (Bob) Scotese, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Frank was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan and a golf enthusiast and was a member of several golf and bowling leagues. He enjoyed dancing, cards, and socializing and was of the Catholic faith.
Frank was preceded in death by his son Jon L., his parents, and his siblings, John, Charles, Margaret (Peg) and Donna and his pet companion Blondie.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5pm-8pm at Aycock at Tradition in Port St Lucie. A service will be held Wednesday at 10:00am at Aycock followed by burial at Rolling Oaks Cemetery.
