Harry was born May 10, 1939 in Long Island, New York to his parents, Fred Wardell and Gertrude Wardell. He grew up with his older brother, Fred Wardell.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force before he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Wardell. They were married for 54 years before she predeceased him in 2016. Harry and Mary Ann raised three boys in Miami, Florida spending much time at their second home in Key Largo, Florida. He was a commercial real estate broker and real estate developer that worked for himself for many years before being recruited by large commercial real estate companies like Lincoln Property Company, First Commercial and Jones Lange Lasalle. Harry received many business awards and designations but was particularly active and involved in the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (S.I.O.R.). Harry and Mary Ann moved to Weston, Florida after their last son left for college. They built their dream home and lived for many years in close proximity to their oldest son and daughter-in-law and their first grandchild. After retiring, Harry and Mary Ann eventually relocated to St. Lucie West where they enjoyed a loving group of friends at the Cascades and enjoyed singing, dancing and entertaining. Harry was the most courageous caretaker for Mary Ann as they successfully fought against terrible odds to steal nine amazing post diagnosis years only their love and his care could have produced. Despite losing the love of his life, Harry continued to flourish at the Cascades and spent much time with his friends and family while still dabbling in real estate. Harry could be seen in all the shows and dance events or tooling around the Cascades in his electric blue golf cart.
Harry is survived by his three sons, Phillip Michael Wardell, Ronald Patrick Wardell, and James Andrew Wardell; his daughter-in-laws, Lisa Wardell, Karina Wardell and Manuela Wardell; his grandchildren, Christine Mancil, Parker Wardell, Garrett Wardell, Alexandra Wardell, Trevor Wardell, Sean Wardell, James Wardell, Jr., and Benjamin Wardell; His great grandchildren, Carter Mandl, Julia Mancil and Jameson Mandl; His grandson-in-law, Jared Mancil.
Harry was courageous in life, courageous in death and left a mark of love, care, kindness, fun and fairness on everyone he touched.
