James “Jay” J. Allen IV unexpectedly joined his Creator on October 25, 2025. He was born on March 14, 1974, in Hartford, Connecticut, to James John Allen III and Gloria Allen, and was the beloved brother of the late Julie Christine Allen.
Jay was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend whose love and dedication to his family were the foundation of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Josephine Allen; his children John Braeden, Jewelle Rhianne, and Jianna Rose; his mother Gloria Allen; his father James John Allen III; nephews AJ Lanati and Nathan Lanati; his Aunt Francesca Johnston and Uncle Robert Johnston; Uncle Ralph Louis Pandolfe Jr.; Aunt Patricia Pandolfe; Aunt Linda Pandolfe and Cousin Robert Pandolfe; and his cherished grandmother, Mary Pandolfe, who continues to bless the family at 106 years young.
Jay was proceeded in death by his sister Julie Christine Allen, Uncle Robert Thomas Pandolfe and cousins Michael Pandolfe and Anthony Pandolfe.
A proud and decorated U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Jay honorably served his country for four years. After his military service, he began a distinguished career in wastewater management, first working for Martin County as a Wastewater Plant Operator and later serving as Chief Operator for the City of Stuart Water Reclamation Facility.
Jay was a man of deep faith and an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He found joy in the simple and meaningful things—family trips to Disney World, fantasy football, cheering for the New York Jets, Montreal Canadiens, and Florida Panthers, and immersing himself in the world of Star Wars, which he loved passionately.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Aycock at Tradition. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, followed by a Committal Service at Rolling Oaks Cemetery and Cremation Garden from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.
Although Jay’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his spirit, laughter, and devotion will forever remain. In lieu of flowers, donations in support of the Allen family may be made at https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-joy-allen-and-her-family
