To the Simon Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences for the incredible loss of Lannec Simon. Lannec and Chantal always treated me like family and I am eternally grateful for being made to feel so welcome. It still brings a smile to my face when I think about how he would be amused when I tasted Haitian food or when he spoke to me in Creole. Although I did not speak French I did my best to understand what he was saying to me and that made him chuckle every time. I am grateful for the good memories and I pray that your good memories will help to heal and strengthen you during this difficult time. God bless you all. Rest In Peace, Lannec. 💜

Dear Chantal & Family,

Laennec was a wonderful friend and co-worker. He was also a kind and honest man. I remember how he and I used to exchange pleasantries during our face to face encounters and by phone. My family and I were shocked by the news of his untimely death. We are genuinely sorry for your loss. May our friendship and prayers ease you through this challenging time.
Courage, Courage, Courage

English:
Two days before his 19th birthday,  the mantle of head of household was thrusted onto Laennec at such a young age.  And just like a real man, Laennec sacrificed his own dreams and did his part to keep the family fed, housed, and protected.

And for me, specifically, Laennec  was the disciplinarian who kept me on the straight and narrow; a coach who taught me about life; a mentor who I didn't want to disappoint;  and a role model I wanted to mimic.

And while Laennec wasn't my biological father, he was definitely 100% my dad.  I love you Laennec Simon and ALWAYS WILL.   REST IN HEAVEN

For the unyielding friendship, for the shared family vacations for the trust in naming me a godfather, for the brotherhood and the love, may our Lord accept your soul and comfort us all, your loved ones.

Lead the way to our Father and prepare for us a place.

Keep smiling, my friend. I will go back a look at all the jokes you sent on WhatsApp and smile once again. Adieu.
