Josh passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the young age of 38.
He was a devoted husband to Danielle (Lefebvre) Holden and a loving father to their three children — Olivia, Emily, and Luke. He is also survived by his mother, Katherine Holden-Smith, and her husband Will Smith; his brother Adam Holden and sister-in-law Katie Holden, along with their children; his brother Travis Holden; his aunt, Debbie Connolly, who played an important role in his life, showing endless love and generosity; and his cousin, Shannon Rech. Josh also shared a special bond with his father-in-law, Yves Lefebvre, a relationship built on deep respect, friendship, and family, along with other cherished members of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Holden.
Josh built a career as a DevOps Engineer at BuildOps, where he was admired not only for his technical expertise but for the compassion, generosity, and teamwork he brought to every project. He thrived on helping others succeed and was known as the person who could bring both calm and laughter to any situation. His humility, integrity, and kindness earned him deep respect and friendship from everyone who worked alongside him.
Above all, Josh was a family man. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his loved ones. He took pride in every role — as a husband, father, and provider. Whether it was tackling house projects, showing up for school events, or planning the next family trip, he did it all with joy and without a single complaint. His adventurous spirit made life fun — from weekend outings to theme parks to spontaneous road trips, he found happiness in creating memories with the people he loved most.
A celebration of Joshua’s life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Aycock at Tradition, 12571 Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Josh’s name, in honor of the compassion and love he shared with all who knew him.
Josh’s warmth, humor, and kindness will be remembered forever by his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy lives on in the love he shared and the countless lives he touched
