She was born in Butte, Montana on June 19, 1952, to Leo Martin and Helen O. Myers. Kathleen graduated with a dual bachelor's degree with honors in English and Spanish from Carroll College, Helena, Montana.
She was a beloved teacher for 12 years at St. Catherine's High School, a private, Roman Catholic high school in Racine, Wisconsin and later at Riverside School, part of the Greenwich, Connecticut public school system.
She was a very generous person and quietly went about myriad acts of kindness and generosity to help others without ever seeking recognition. Her reward was knowing she had done something to make someone else's life better.
Kathleen felt she lived a privileged life enriched by her family, students, friends, causes and extensive worldwide travel and recreational activities.
She is survived by her husband Edmund L. Valentine.
She requested her life be celebrated as a life well lived rather than mourning. Kathleen instructed no services to be held to avoid potentially exposing anyone to Covid.
The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Department of Melanoma Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
She will be interred at Arlington Cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.aycocktradition.com for the Valentine family.
