Kathleen Anne Violette was born March 11, 1943 to Timothy and Katherine Clancy in Montclair, NJ. At age 11, her parents moved to Hollywood, Fl. She attended Little Flower Catholic School and was the first graduation class at MacArthur High School in Hollywood, Fl. She was very active in school and played on the tennis team. Kathleen earned a full scholarship to The Jackson School of Nursing in Miami, Fl. She also studied at Towson in Baltimore and obtained her BS Degree in Nursing. It was at Jackson that she met her husband, Frederick Violette, who was stationed at Homestead Air Force base with the U.S. Army Security Agency. They married on June 25, 1966 and then welcomed their daughter, Denise Violette on November 15, 1969. They relocated to the Lake Worth Area in 1973. Kathleen became a Medical Surgical Charge Nurse at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL. In 1991 she was hit by a drunk driver and shortly developed symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. She was forced by her illness to retire from Nursing in 1994. She then went on to become a Peer leader for A Multiple Sclerosis Group in Lake Worth, Fl. In 2007 her husband sold his auto repair facility and they relocated to Tavernier, Fl. Kathleen soon became a volunteer at Mariners Hospital in Tavernier. In 2014 she was named volunteer of the year and was active until recently logging in 5880 hours of service. She was diagnosed with Melanoma in March of 2024 after a prior surgery in January of 2023 for Melanoma.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frederick, daughter, Denise (Stephen) Lundquist of Port St Lucie, FL, brother, Kevin (Gladys) Clancy of Stuart, Fl, and sister, Judith Elizabeth Bridgman of Port Orange, Fl, as well as nieces and nephews.
Kathleen’s favorite song is Vince Gills “Look at us.” She was a friend to everyone, her caring smile and laughter will be greatly missed.
