Marie Germain Faugue was born on September 19th, 1941 in Jean-Rabel, Haiti to her parents Sidoine Germain and Francilia Williamceau. After a long battle with Alzheimer’s and aortic valve disease, Jesus called her home on September 26th, 2020. Marie is survived by her husband of 46 years, Michel Faugue. She is one of 6 siblings; survived by her brothers Albert, Claireus, and Sideou. She is a mother to 10 children, Ralph, Johnny, Garry, Adrian (deceased), Jeffrey (deceased), Arie, Adeline, Marcarious, Ron, and Thomas. 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marie was also considered by many as their adopted mom.
On May 19th, 1961 at 19 years old Marie left her birth home of Haiti and moved to Nassau, Bahamas seeking a better life and future. She was an exceptional wife and mother, who worked extremely hard while at the same time raising a growing family. Marie arrived in the United States in June of 1973. She sacrificed her own goals and needs for the good of her family. Marie entered night school to learn English and became a certified foster care parent eventually finding employment at Hibiscus House Children’s Center of Jensen Beach as a caregiver. Marie made everything special, cooking huge meals especially for the holidays. Everyone who knew her or came to visit were always treated as family. She made sure that anyone who was in her presence felt at home. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.
Marie loved the Lord, cooking, dancing, traveling, knitting, sewing and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered as a selfless and giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. A strong determined person who even in her battle with Alzheimer’s showed her strength to the end.
17 months ago we thought we were going to lose her, but God allowed us to have extended time with Marie, which we are forever grateful for. We will miss Marie tremendously and will always have a reason to thank God she was in our lives. She will be lovingly remembered forever in our hearts. Thank you for everything Mommy and Grandma, love you more than words can say. See you again in Heaven!
Revelations 21: 1-4
“Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
