He was born January 28th, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, alongside his twin, Sammy, and is where he met his wife in 1959. He resided there before moving to New Jersey, where he raised his three wonderful sons, Neil, Andrew, and Jonathan, and later to Florida, near to many family and friends.
Marty proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1955-1959. He then spent many years in the embroidery business designing and selling lace and trimmings in the garment center.
Later in life, he worked and helped in the office for his sons’ business, Wilson Bros Landscaping.
Always an active member in his communities, he served as the Chancellor Commander of the Knights of Pythias John F. Kennedy Centennial Lodge #100, and as an Engineer and Member of the South Matawan Township First Aid squad.
He valued meeting others and having good conversation, during which he would learn their stories and tell his own. He enjoyed sharing and hearing good news, often starting his posts and updates with a famous nod to the past, “Mr. and Mrs. America and all the ships at sea…there is good news today!”
Marty truly loved cruising, dancing, and playing poker. He found his greatest joy in gathering with family.
Marty leaves a legacy of humor, perseverance, and fierce pride for his loved ones. He had an unmistakable handshake which people never forgot – firm and genuine, much like Marty himself. He was a stand-up man who always did what was right.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Ellen Wilson (Kamen), his three sons, Neil Wilson and wife Adriana, Andrew Wilson and wife Lisa, Jonathan Wilson and wife Jennifer, his ten grandchildren, Nicholas Wilson and his wife Christina, Deanna Wilson, Rachael Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Alec Wilson, Kayla Wilson, Joseph Valente, and Daniel Valente, his two great-grandchildren, Javier Sosa, and Carmela Spoleti-Wilson, his twin brother, Samuel Wilson and wife Shelly, sister-in-law Ruth Goldstein (Kamen), brothers-in-law Robert Kamen and Daniel Kamen, and his beloved nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
