

Michael Matviya, 96, of Port St. Lucie passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2014 at St. Lucie Medical Center. Michael was born in New Derry, Pennsylvania. He had been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past twenty five years coming from Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II with the Eighth Air Force. He was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Matviya and his son-in-law, John Dinger. Survivors include his son, Ron Matviya and his wife Pam; daughter, Marjorie Dinger; five grandchildren, Justin Matviya, Tracy Matviya; Brandon Dinger, Bradley Dinger, and Brian Dinger. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Aycock FH-Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel, 1170 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, March 4, 2016 at St. Lucie Catholic Church, 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983, Tel # (772) 878-1215. Burial will follow at South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
