He was born on September 27, 1949, in West Palm Beach, the son of the late Ralph Hammett and Lola (Brower) Patterson. He was a graduate of the University of Florida, receiving a Degree in Political Science. He was a long time resident of the Ft. Pierce and Stuart area.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a manager to several local furniture stores.
He was a black belt in Taekwondo and held a realtors license in both Florida and North Carolina.
Michael is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gerry V. Patterson; a stepson, Jason A. Bott; stepdaughters,
Joelle E. Harris and her husband Chuck, and Deanie O'Malley and her husband Patrick; grandchildren, Joelle Thomson and her husband Ricky, Monica Harris and John Sawtell; a great granddaughter, Chloe Sawtell; brothers, Ralph Patterson and his wife Anne, Phillip Patterson, and William Silveria and his wife Paula; sisters, Leslie Duncan and her husband Gene, Michelle Price, and Paula Ingersoll and her husband Mike; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Zsa Zsa.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation on Friday, February 21, 2020, from 5-6pm, in the Aycock at Tradition Funeral Home, 12571 Tradition Parkway, Port St. Lucie. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 6pm.
