Marlene was born in Walton, WV to the late Harley Howard Harris and Susan Anderson Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Granville Neal, her high school sweetheart, whom she married on December 29, 1951. Shortly after their marriage, Marlene joined Paul in Oahu, Hawaii where he served with several Naval Air Squadron’s during the Korean War. The life, love and memories shared over 69 years together is the legacy passed to their family and friends that will bring the most comfort.
Marlene was a devoted wife and mother with a love and talent for cooking, sewing, quilting and gardening that made a warm and beautiful home for all.
She will be missed by many, including her four daughters, Deborah Campbell of Duncan, OK; Cindy Reynolds of Jensen Beach, FL; Paula Neal-Loughlin of Port St. Lucie, FL and Susan Neal of Burlington NC. In addition, to the many grand-children and great-grand-children who loved her, a special mention and thank you to her son-in law, David Loughlin, who devoted his time to assist and care for her during these last few years.
We will all miss her, just as we’ve missed Dad, but feel comforted that they are together, meeting on Left Hand Hill on their journey to our heavenly father.
