

Richard Thompson, a beloved Husband, Dad, Grandfather, soon to be Great Grandfather and Friend. Richard passed away at the age of 71 on July 02, 2015 after a long battle with illness . Richard was the youngest of three sons of Kathrine and Edward Thompson. He was born, raised and long time resident of Pawtucket, RI. Richard was a hard working and dedicated man who retired from Texas Instruments. He was honorable, loving and loyal to his friends and family. Richard leaves behind his wife Rene Thompson who he meet 25 years ago and was married for 18. His loving son Tom Thompson, daughter Dawn Thompson and . His brother James Thompson and a loving Daughter Gina Thompson, as well as, five grandsons Justin, Shaun, Brian, Mark, David who will sorely miss him. And two Great Granddaughter's Madilyn and one who he will sadly never get to know him. He was loved and will be missed by countless friends. Richard will be forever remembered as a strong and confident man. He was a defender of his country, in the United States Army, as an artillery man. A true man among men. Richard loved boating and was the owner of the boat, Dawn Marie III. He truly loved being on the ocean and spent his weekend on Block Island with his family and friends. He was always helping others that needed it. He was a man of vast knowledge and he passed it down to those around him. He was a vital cog in the running and history of his family. There will TRULY never be another man like him and we will all miss him dearly. May GOD watch and smile over him. He is out of pain and is sitting in heaven with his friends, his Mom, his Dad, and his older brother Edward (Eddy) Thompson who have gone before him. He earned his wings.
